The very first HEALTHeWV board meeting was held Aug. 31 at the NTTC. During the meeting, both the application’s current and future features were presented to seek members’ input in prioritizing those features so the product best meets the needs of community health centers, according to director, Mazharullah Shaik, M.D.

The purpose of the HEALTHeWV Board is to guide the development of the HEALTHeWV software application and steer the program toward becoming self-supportive.

The advisory board consists of members representing clinicians, administrative leaders, academic institutions and state health agencies. The members include: Derrick Latos, M.D, (Group Chairman), medical director, Wheeling Renal Care Center; Mark A. Newbrough, M.D., medical director, Cabin Creek Health Center; James Comerci, M.D., medical director, Wheeling Health Right; Dee Scritchfield, chief executive officer, Wirt County Health Service; Craig Robinson, executive director, Cabin Creek Health Center; Cecil Pollard, director, Office of Health Services Research/West Virginia University; Nell Phillips, R.N., MSM, assistant director, WV DHHS/Division of Primary Care; Letha Zook, Ph.D., academic dean, Wheeling Jesuit University.
