HEALTHeWV Benefiting Another West Virginia Clinic March 2007 The NTTC’s HEALTHeWV program is making a positive impact on patient care at Parkersburg-based Good Samaritan Clinic, which launched the system in November. For Good Samaritan electronic health records and automated state reporting functionalities have meshed nicely with its needs for efficiency and speed. “HEALTHeWV has provided us with an easily accessible method to collect and evaluate patient data,” says Cynthia Moore, administrator at Good Samaritan. “Providers no longer need to search for vital signs in mounds of paper to diagnose or evaluate hypertension, for example. They are available in a vital signs report at your fingertips.” Good Samaritan is the second pilot site in West Virginia for HEALTHeWV. Wheeling Health Right implemented the program in August. The HEALTHeWV software was adapted from HEALTHeFORCES, an electronic health records system developed by Walter Reed Army Medical Center for use by the military. The NTTC hopes to expand the HEALTHeWV program to 35 more clinics throughout the state. |
