CIS Conducts Launch of New HEALTHeWV Iteration September 2008 The latest version of the HEALTHeWV application – Iteration 6 – launched September 15 in the 21 West Virginia clinics that use the NTTC-managed HEALTHeWV. The NTTC’s Computer Information Services (CIS) department spent the previous three weeks training staff at these clinics on using Iteration 6. Training took place via online Webinar sessions with teleconferencing. Customer satisfaction surveys show that clinic staffers are pleased with the training. But before the clinics could log onto the updated system on the 15th, a time-consuming changeover had to take place over the weekend. After clinics closed out of the system at 4 p.m., Friday, September 12, the old iteration (5) was backed up to the NTTC tape drives, and Dave Angalich, database architect/applications development manager, began the 6-8 hour process of loading Iteration 6 onto the NTTC file servers. Further installation tasks will be performed after the installation. Saturday morning, September 13, HeWV staff (Beth Coleman, technical support specialist; Michaela Gaus and Brian Moore, clinical systems analysts; Pam Scott, health applications specialist; and Mike Bowman, CIS director) began testing the new version on the production servers. |
