The Monongahela Valley Association of Health Centers Inc. (MVA) Fairmont Clinic hosted a press conference August 21 to announce the clinic’s adoption of HEALTHeWV, the paperless patient records system managed by the NTTC. The press conference was planned and conducted by the NTTC, and it was attended by the following: Davitt McAteer, vice president for sponsored programs, who spoke at the event; Mazharullah Shaik, HEALTHeWV executive director, who answered questions and met with clinic staff; and Kathryn Duda, assistant manager of public affairs, who prepared written materials for reporters and worked to encourage them to attend and cover the event.

The press conference drew two local television stations (WDTV and WBOY) and the local newspaper (the Times West Virginian), with stories appearing later that day and the next.
